The classic rule in blackjack is the dealer stands on soft 17 where the dealer stands immediately after his score reaches 17 or up. Another one is the dealer hits on soft 17 meaning the dealer needs to draw another card if he has 17 soft point which includes an ace in his hand but the dealer must still stand on hard 17. The soft 17 is mostly an optional rule but is followed on blackjack switch.

Doubling is another variant but this differs from one online casino to another, with some of them totally disallowing this variant. There are casinos that permit you to double any two cards you have while there are some that will allow you to double if it is of certain value.

Although surrender is mostly not allowed, when it is you can either do it eearly or late. With an early surrender you can do it before the dealer checks for blackjack and this is important when playing online.
