The best high hand in Omaha Hi/Lo is similar to that of a regular Omaha game with no qualifications required to form a winning high hand so a winning high hand is always possible.

The winning low hand on the other hand has certain qualifications for it to win the pot. For your hand to qualify as an Omaha low hand, your card cannot have anything higher than an 8 and all must be unpaired cards. Aces is considered to be a high as well as low card and so the best winning low hand is A-2-3-4 and 5. Straights and flushes are not considered in low hand and you can just ignore them when forming a low hand but your low hand can also be the highest winning hand if its a straight or flush and this is the beauty of Omaha Hi/Lo, you can and may win both hands and take all the pot.

The rest of the game though is the same with regular Omaha with each player dealt with four hole cards and five community cards with the winning hands having two hole cards and three from that of the community cards.

One technique that you use to your advantage in Texas Hold'em to increase the pot is the delaying tactic, and one that should be avoided in Omaha poker. Aggressiveness and a faster pace is more suitable to Omaha because this prevents other players from making the suitable combination that they are aiming for. Remember that in Omaha, each player has an additional two hole cards compared to Texas Hold'em and this gives other players (not just you) a bigger chance of making a higher combination.

Seating does not affect your game in Omaha unlike that in Texas Hold'em. Wherever you are sitting when playing Omaha won't matter, you have a good chance of winning the game as any other player at that table.

Don't be distracted if you have an ace. Having aces in poker sometimes make confident players careless up to a point where they can become reckless. Remember that all players have the same number of cards as you do (four hole cards) and if you have an ace one of your opponents may also have an ace or (oh no!) two. So don't love the aces too much that it may distract you from winning a game.

When starting a game of Omaha, players post a big blind and a small blind and after the blind bets are posted,comes one of the main difference between Omaha and Texas Hold’em, where the dealer gives four cards face down in Omaha compared to the two hole cards in Texas Hold’em.

Next comes a round of betting which is started by the player to the left of the two players who posted the blinds and they can either call, raise or fold.

The dealer then discards the top of the deck called burning the card (just like in Texas Hold’em) and deals three cards face up on the table, called the flop. The next round of betting occurs with the players either calling, raising or folding.

After burning another card, the dealer flips another card face up which becomes the fourth community card called the Turn or Fourth street and another round of betting is done.

Finally, the dealer burns one last card and places the final and fifth card still face up, this one called the River or Fifth Street. Now, here’s another main difference between the two poker variants, in Omaha you can form the best and winning hand by exactly combining two of your hole cards, not one or three but two, with three of the community cards unlike that of Texas Hold’em where you can use none to two of your hole cards and combine with the community cards to form the best possible winning poker hand.

The last round of betting ensues and the remaining players after betting goes on a showdown where in they show their winning hands with the player on the dealer’s left going first and the player with the best combination of five cards wins.

Starting with Texas Hold’em, this game is the most played in online gambling and casinos and it can be played from two up to ten players. It is a very popular game because it is easy to learn and fast paced. Each player in this game is dealt with two cards face down called hole cards and five community cards which are dealt face up. In Seven Card Stud, betting must start with a mandatory ante, and once the antes have been posted, each player is dealt with three cards with two cards face down and one card face up called the door card. Four cards are also dealt face up and the players must combine the seven cards to form the best five hand card in order to win.

Five card draw, one of the oldest game of poker, can be played between two to five players. Betting starts with an ante followed by two rounds of betting. Each player in the Five Card Draw is dealt with five cards face down. After the first round of betting the players have a choice of discarding one or all of his five cards and replacing them with new ones. Then the final round of betting begins.
