Online Texas Hold’em Poker Basic Stategies
Texas Hold’em Poker officially originated in Robstown, Texas in the early 1900s. It has gained popularity in the recent years and evolved as one of the most widely played game in land based and online casinos world wide.
Texas Hold’em is a community-card game with 2-10 players at a table. The goal is to win as many chips as you can by having the best hand or having all the players fold before the showdown. It is considered to be a player friendly game especially to beginners with its four betting rounds and the majority of the cards face up on the table.
The first thing to do is posting which is done by the players placing out blinds and antes. This is the initial amount to get the game started and this depends on the limit and betting structure.
A standard deck of 52 playing cards is then shuffled. Each player is then given two cards face down and this is called the hole or pocket cards.
The first round of betting then starts with the player to the left of the blinds and the players can either call, raise or fold. This is called the preflop betting round. After that that the dealer discards the top card of the deck, which is called the burn card, to prevent cheating.
The dealer will then flip three cards face up on the table, called the flop. The player can use this communal cards in combination of their hole or pocket cards to form a poker hand.
The player on the dealer’s left then start another round of betting, the dealer again burns before flipping another communal card on the table called the turn. The player again on the dealer’s left begins a round of betting and this where, most of the time, the bet amount doubles.
Once again the dealer burns a card and flips a final card face up, known as the river. The players can now use any of the five face up cards on the table with their two pocket cards to form a five card poker hand and the last round of betting begins with the player on the dealer’s left.
After that is the what they call a showdown wherein all the remaining players who hasn’t fold will show their winning poker hand and the player with the best hand will of course win. The pot is split to the players with the same winning hand.
Texas Hold’em is quite an easy game to learn and with practice you can be a master of online poker rooms.
