Online blackjack or also known as 21 has several great strategies that you can learn when you start playing and some of these strategies are harder than most but what you need to learn as you try to gain experience is to know the basic strategies.

Learning the basic strategies for playing online blackjack is quite easy you just simply need to remember when to hit, stand, double down and split pairs. Knowing these strategies as well as knowing the rules of blackjack, will most definitely help you gain an edge over the house.

In blackjack, when your hand value is less than 8, the only thing you must do is hit until you have a good enough hand and at which point you must stand. If you have a hand value of 9 you should ordinarily hit, but if the dealer shows a 3-6 as their exposed card you could double down.

When your valued hand is 10-11, always double down unless the dealer's exposed card is a 10 or ace and then youjust hit. Mostly, if you have a hand value of 12-16 you must stand but if the dealer has an exposed card of 7 or much higher you must hit.

When your card is valued at 17 or higher, no matter what the dealer has, you must always stand as the odds are not good enough to take another card.

Typically you should only split pairs when the dealer's exposed card is lower than 6 because then you have a better chance of winning both hands. Also, you must never split 10's no matter what the dealer has and 9's must also not be split when the dealer's exposed card is a value of 10 or an ace.

If you're playing on a table wherein you can surrender to the dealer, it's advisable that you must surrender whenever you have a 15 or 16 because your chances of winning then becomes very slim. You could also surrender if the dealer's exposed card is a 7 or higher as against to your hands valued at 12-14.

Once you have learned these basic online blackjack strategies, you are ready to hit the tables, and you can gain more valuable strategies as you go along and experience the game online.
