The players in Caribbean stud poker plays their hands, composed of five cards, heads up and they play against the dealer but there may be as much as seven number of players. Considered as a house game it is accepted that the online casinos will always have that edge but as with every other casino game where the odds most likely favor the house there are still some good online gambling practices that can help you even out the odds just a little and give you positive profits.

In a game of Caribbean stud the standard house edge applies of 5.25% over the players so looking at it this way if you have $100 to wager, the end would bring you loses of $5.25. So once the cards are dealt in Caribbean stud your most critical decision to make is whether you will fold or raise your wager.

You can either fold and thus lose your ante bet or you raise and then win the ante bet only because the dealer did not qualify. You can also raise and then win both the ante and the raised bet because the dealer did qualify but you beat the dealer’s hand. The last possible outcome you can expect is to raise and lose both the ante and the raised bet because the dealer was qualified and your hand loses to the dealer’s hands.

You must remember in a Caribbean stud game to always raise when you have a pair in your hands or higher because pairs normally let you win in the long run more often that it lets you lose but if your hand is less than the qualifying hands of the dealer which is ace and or king, always fold. Bluffing in Caribbean stud is not recommended because the dealer only plays with an ace or king high or something better and they never ever fold so just save yourself some money and fold if you do not have a hand that you think may not be better than that of the dealer.

Keeping in mind these strategies and of course the basic rules and regulations will let you improve your chances when playing the next round of Caribbean stud poker.
