The main characteristic that define Double Exposure Blackjack is that both of the dealer's card are dealt face up. In the regular blackjack, the dealer's card is dealt with one card face up and the other one face down. In this way the player has to make a good guess of the dealer's second card before he makes his move consequently.

A good strategy for a player would be to accordingly make his moves based on the probable value of the second card of the dealer but this will not do when the card exposed is a card with little chance of being dealt. In double exposure blackjack it happens several times that the dealer's cards totals 17 or even more when the two cards are dealt and when in this position the dealer cannot take another card and so the player's goal is crystal clear.

Take for example the dealer's hand totals to 18 and you have a hand value of 17, so in these double exposure variant of blackjack, you will have to take the risk and take another card hoping to beat the dealer's hand even if it's a long shot because by not doing so you already lose. Yet in a regular blackjack you would never take the third card and stand by your hand of 17 and when the dealer's hand is revealed to make his hand 18 and of course you lose.
